Your Excellency Sir,
Despite your tight schedules, which i believe you may have little or no time to read this letter i am writing to you, but please do make out time to read through this letter because i am from the "Street" and this is what the "Street" people are all crying and yearning for all this long years of your governance.Firstly in their order of importance, let me begin with the first cry of the people which is the Poverty eradication policies you promised us all upon your assumption to office as the commander in chief of our beloved country. You promised that few month after your swearing in, that an average Nigerian family will not go to bed hungry again. but up till now, we can say that has become synonymous to the famous television series titled 'Super Story", which the "Street people" see's as an empty promise. You have done little or nothing to help in alleviating the suffering of the common Nigerian man. When you come to the street, the average Nigerian family of three cannot boast to feed on $2(#380) a day, what a shame. Subsidy came and we thought that is the Messiah programme to save us, but what we saw was rather a shame and failed policy and another channel to pour water in empty basket, yes i mean a channel of empowering your cronies again.
Education, during your administration suffered the worst embarrassment. first it was the University that went on strike, upon their resumption back to school, the polytechnic which i am part of, also went on its own strike that kept us at home for eleven months, which forced many youths to get into various vices that most of them never made it alive back to school, which at the end of the wasted months, the reason for embarking on the long strike action was defeated because your government failed to listen or shift grounds on its myopic stand point. Thus wasting our precious time that we could have used to round up our curriculum. How would you and your elite class be concerned, when your children and wards are out there in the foreign universities schooling.
Security in your tenure has become a nightmare. we no longer sleep with our two eyes closed, for fear of the unknown. Bomb blasts in our streets and car parks have become like rainfall during the raining season that starts even without signals. Despite the huge resources allocated to armed forces and other paramilitary agencies that makes up our security system, all we get is failure....In-fact Mr president, it is dis-heartening to be recording such great losses of lives and properties of the "Street" citizens and experiencing such a shame under your very watch.
Do i talk about the failed transport sector, both the Airways, railways, waterways and the land transport have all become shadows of their former glories. I must not fail to commend you on the few new roads you have either constructed or repaired. But that is not even good enough because the life of the street people are daily taken by mishaps on either of these transportation means. A country as large and vibrant as ours cannot boast of a national air carrier like even some poor African nations. What a shame.
Your fight on corruption is near zero. Administrations before yours at least made several arrest, but in yours, the same corrupt leaders you have empowered and have left them walking free in the streets, and some of them have even risen to positions that were not meant for people like them, when they should be behind bars, or better still should be confined in the monastery asking forgiveness from God for the rest of their lives.
Where else have you erred? in the Health sector, under your regime the medical doctors shut down our hospitals, leaving innocent, law abiding, "Street" citizens to die because of no medical treatments. You may be wondering why i specified on the "Street" patients, yes because when the elephant fight, it is always the grass they say that suffers the danger. Your elite class however never patronized our local hospitals, they are either traveling abroad for medical check-ups or for full medical treatments.
Mr President, even Sports, which is one of the unifying factors in our dearest nation has suffered a great deal of blow below the belt by your government. How? yes of course, when has the game of sports become a tool for politicking?, that FIFA had to come to middle in our internal affairs. Thus this great politicking had cost us the all mighty nations cup ticket. Now what will our dear "Street" youths engage themselves in during this period of sporting event in our contienent?
Well i am a lover of this great nation, and i believe that someday we will grow beyond this stage and become like great democracies like America, and our economy and other sectors of our dear nation becoming like that of other developed nations.
I believe that sooner than later God Himself is going to hear the prayer of the "Street" people because our prayers, cries and blood have ascended into the high heavens and he (God) will send us a messieh that will bring the desired reforms we need.
Mr president, i write you this letter, not as your enemy or the enemy of this nation, but as a concerned citizen that have really been in the street and have tasted the "Street" life, People are suffering every where, we cannot buy things cheap the way we used to buy, our Naira has become a shame to us. we cannot boast with our dearest currency again. We now bend our heads in shame when other nations are show-casing their currencies. The GDP is scary, not even giving us the hope of a better tomorrow but rather a hope of a glimmer future.
Your Excellency Sir, Power is from God, He gives it to one and at His own timing removes it from him and gives it to another person. you are not better than millions of us here in the street, but God Himself chose you from the same street, which you have confirmed so many times, therefore i beg that you write your name in the good "Street" history book so that posterity will speak well of you when you are long gone. Great people like Nelson Mandela, Abraham Lincoln and lots of them did so, so you too can do it.
If God returns you to the greatest office in Africa "ASO ROCK" please take your time to look at these areas i had pointed out to you Sir. monitor those you appoint if they truly believe in your ideologies or if they are just mere hypocrites that are out there to spoil your good intentions. Seek God always for divine directions, for wisdom is from God alone.
Thank you Mr President, for taking out from your precious little time to read this letter.
God Bless Mr President,
God Bless The Federal Republic Of Nigeria,
God Bless The United States Of America
God Bless The Israeli Government.
Thank your Sir.
