In a piece by political strategist, Ibrahim Biu, there are indications for the coveted position in the opposition party be bestowed on the experienced chief.
Biu said: “Bala Mohammed has served many years as the longest serving minister of the FCT; and his outstanding record has been an effect of what the FCT is today. His efforts is so significant to the development of the nation at large”.
He further claimed that although Bala’s doggedness to an extent made him controversial, the embattled senator has silenced his critics as regards reforms.
“When projects like the land swap and the FCT revenue board eventually takes off, the FCTA will get billions of Naira to take care of its problems annually”, he posited.
He said: “Bala’s role in the development of the FCT within the last five years has become the reference point for others. This was simply because he had guts to do what many FCT ministers before him were unable to do; especially to the actualization of the Jonathan transformation agenda. He did this quietly without making too much noise like his predecessors. He was only concerned with making Abuja, a great city where things actually work.”
It would be recalled that during the campaign for the 2015 elections, Bala asked was furious that Governor Yuguda of Bauchi turned into an APC spokesman. and was exonerating the opposition party of culpability in the attack on the PDP presidential campaign team.
